Clark , Elizabeth Ann (Furrier), Age 91, formerly of Lynnfield and Scituate, Massachusetts, died peacefully on December 7 at home in Peabody with family by her side. Betty was the daughter of the late Joseph P. and Cecelia (Madigan) Furrier and sister to the late Joseph P Jr and Michael Furrier. She was born in Lynn, MA on July 12, 1930 and raised in Lynnfield.
Betty graduated from Wakefield High School and later from Carney Hospital School of Nursing in Dorchester MA, where she met and married a young resident physician, Bill Clark , the love of her life. After living briefly in Scarsdale and Albany, NY, Bill and Betty eventually settled in the North Shore of Boston.
Betty was active in St. Maria Goretti's parish, as well as the local Girl Scout troops. She enjoyed golf, bridge and travel, spending summers on the beach at Minot MA and winters in Naples FL. She loved her Boston sports teams and will be remembered for her love of family, friends and entertaining.
Betty (aka "Ma Clark") was pre-deceased by her beloved husband Dr. William J. (Bill) Clark Jr. Loving mother of Sheila Iacopino and her husband Vito, William J. Clark III. and his wife Anita, Stephen Clark , Peter Clark , Eileen Kenney and her husband Jeff, Kate Clark , Maura Gomes and her husband Wilson, Elizabeth Paulding, Julianne Regan and her husband Chris. She is also survived by her
15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
A Funeral Mass will be held at Saint Maria Goretti Church in, Lynnfield on Friday, December 17 at 11 AM. A celebration of life will also be held this summer in her honor.
