Elizabeth Gammons

Elizabeth Joyce "Betsy" Gammons, 63, passed away on Friday, December 18, 2015. She was born on August 21, 1952 in Malden, MA to the late Gerald R. and Barbara D. Burton, formerly of Wakefield, MA.

Betsy is survived by her beloved husband of 45 years, Stephen E. Gammons, a long-time resident of Conomo Point in Essex, MA, their four daughters: Daryl Gammons-Jones, of Redondo Beach, CA, Leah Rogers of Newport, RI, Katherine Hart of Wayne, PA, and Stephanie Gammons, of Essex, three siblings: Barbara Parr of Nashua, NH, Gail White of Williamsburg, VA, and Paul Burton of Merrimac, NH, as well as countless cherished friends and neighbors. Betsy loved children, and was an affectionate grandmother to her seven grandchildren: Owen and Zoe Rogers of Newport, RI, Nicholas, Benjamin, and Charles Hart of Wayne, PA, and Griffin and Skye Jones of Redondo Beach, CA.

Betsy enjoyed working creatively, and held several positions related to art, publishing, and media. She was a dedicated photo editor and project manager at Quarto Publishing Group in Beverly, MA for the past 15 years, where she worked with hundreds of authors. Betsy loved animals, especially her faithful companion Wing. Gardening, cooking and enjoying the ocean were some other of her favorite pastimes. A mass and memorial service celebrating her life will be held in Spring 2016.
