Elizabeth Hoxie

Elizabeth R. Hoxie, 66, of Wakefield died on Saturday, August 31 at her residence.

Born in Chelsea on April 8, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Henry I. and Grace W. (Paterson) Britner.

Mrs. Hoxie had been a Wakefield resident since 1958 and was a graduate of Wakefield High School, Class of 1965. She had retired from CVS in Wakefield as a sales associate. Mrs. Hoxie was a former member of the Rainbow Girls of Wakefield. She was an animal lover and enjoyed traveling to the family cottage on Cape Cod, trips to the theater and enjoyed being a homemaker and taking care of her children and grandchildren.

Mrs. Hoxie was the wife of Stephen G. Hoxie. She was the mother of Jonathan S. Hoxie & his wife Jennifer of Pembroke, NH, Robert A. Hoxie of Lowell and Elizabeth R. O'Leary & her husband Ryan of Natick. She was the sister of Henry I. Britner & his wife Geraldine of Wakefield. She was the grandmother of Jenna & Ashley. She was the aunt of Gerrylyn Ryan and Leighann Britner.

Her funeral service will be held in the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave, Wakefield on Thursday at 11am. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4-8pm. Interment will be at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park in Peabody.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Elizabeth's name to The Lustgarten Foundation, 1111 Stewart Ave, Bethpage, NY, 11714 or the Northeast Animal Shelter, 347 Highland Ave., Salem, MA 01970.
