Elizabeth Dennis

Elizabeth M . "Betty" Dennis , 82, of Stoneham died on Tuesday, September 28 at the Wilmington Health Care Center.

Born in Boston on March 15, 1928 she was the daughter of the late Edmund and Margaret (Whitney) Clifford.

Elizabeth was raised in Dorchester and Charlestown and was a graduate of Charlestown High School, Class of 1936. She had been a Stoneham resident since 1960 and was a member of St. Patrick parish in Stoneham.

Elizabeth enjoyed skiing and shopping. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and at her vacation home in the White Mountains.

She was the wife of the late Theodore J. Dennis and mother of Jerome P. Dennis of Medford, Joanne M . Palermo and husband Michael and Susan M . Lomas all of Stoneham, E. Monica Morrison of Wakefield and Carolyn J. Gosselin and Christine J. Miele and husband Gary all of Wilmington. She was the sister of Margaret Swanson and husband George of FL and the late Marie Doherty, Claire Harrington and Leo Clifford. She was the sister-in-law of Ann and Tom Turner of Peabody. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her 2 grandchildren, James Palermo and Brian Morrison.

Her funeral will be held from the McDonald-Finnegan Funeral Home, 322 Main St., Stoneham on Saturday at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham at 10 a.m. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. Interment will be at Lindenwood Cemetery in Stoneham.
