Elizabeth A. MacDonald, 78, a life long resident of Stoneham died on Sunday, August 3 at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital.
Born in Stoneham on February 16, 1936 she was the daughter of the late Martin and Helena (Doherty) Jordan.
Mrs. MacDonald was a graduate of Stoneham High School and Malden Hospital School of Nursing. She had retired as a Registered Nurse in 1999 from the former Greenview Manor Nursing Home in Wakefield. Mrs. MacDonald was a former member of the Red Hats and a member of St. Patrick's Parish in Stoneham
She was the wife of the late Alex MacDonald. Mrs. MacDonald is survived by her 5 children; Karen A. Izzett of Wakefield, Michael F. MacDonald and his wife Marisol of Windham, NH, Thomas J. MacDonald and Lauren Jurgelon of Newburyport, Colleen M. Carpinella and her husband Michael of Stoneham and Timothy J. MacDonald of Wakefield and her daughter-in-law Cheryl MacDonald of Wakefield. She is also survived by her 11 grandchildren and her 6 great grandchildren. Mrs. MacDonald was predeceased by her son Alexander J. MacDonald III, her three brothers; Martin Jordan, John Jordan and William Jordan and her sister Theresa Finn.
Her Funeral will be held from the McDonald-Finnegan Funeral Home, 322 Main St., Stoneham on Thursday at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham at 10am. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4-8pm. Interment will be at Lindenwood Cemetery in Stoneham.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Children's Hospital, 300 Longwood Ave., Boston, MA 02115.
