Elizabeth M. Sullivan, age 76 of Westminster, formerly of Stoneham and Reading, died Tuesday, December 18 at the UMass Medical Center in Worcester.
She was born on August 15, 1942 and was the daughter of Edward and Elizabeth (DiCicco) Newton.
Mrs. Sullivan was raised in Stoneham and attended St. Patrick School and graduated from Stoneham High School in 1960. She marched in the Color Guard and Drum Corp for St. Patrick Church. She had been a longtime resident in Reading, having lived in the town for more than 20 years. Mrs. Sullivan loved to cook and was the head chef for St. Agnes Parish in Reading.
She was the beloved wife of the late William R. Sullivan. She was the loving mother of Mark W. Sullivan and his wife Christine of Billerica, Thomas F. Sullivan and his wife Judith of Hopkinton, Scott E. Sullivan and his wife Stella of San Diego, CA, Keith A. Sullivan and his fiancée Marion Meaney of Westminster, and Christopher M. Sullivan and his wife Angela of Exeter, NH. She was the sister of Joseph Newton of San Diego, CA, Jean Zaremba of Wakefield, Sally Strachan of No. Attleboro, Richard Newton of Lynnfield, Edward Newton of Lynnfield, and the late Frank and Henry Newton. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
Her Funeral will be held from the McDonald-Finnegan Funeral Home, 322 Main St., Stoneham on Saturday at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham at 10am. Visitation for relatives and friends at the Funeral Home on Friday from 4-7pm.
