Elsie Bartlett

Elsie E. Bartlett, 89, of Lynnfield died Tuesday, February 23 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers.

Born in Boston on January 9, 1921 she was the daughter of the late John E. and Olga M. (Fall) Horner.

She was a devoted mother and grandmother, Always putting others needs ahead of her own. Upon retirement at age 63, she became a volunteer at the Lynnfield Senior Center, which she continued to do for over 20 years.

Mrs. Bartlett had been a Lynnfield resident since 1962. She was raised in Roslindale and was a graduate of Hyde Park High School, Class of 1938. She had worked at Jordan Marsh as a clerical worker.

Mrs. Bartlett was the wife of the late Major Douglas P. Bartlett. She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Bartlett of Rowley, her two sons; Harold Bartlett and Philip Bartlett and his wife Carol all of Lynnfield and her four grandchildren; Lisa, Emily, Craig and Kayle. Mrs. Bartlett was predeceased by her brother Harold Horner.

A funeral service will be held in the McDonald Funeral Home 19 Yale Ave, Wakefield on Friday at 1pm. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Lynnfield.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of the North Shore, 75 Sylvan St, Suite B102, Danvers, MA 01923
