Emily M. DiPietro, 90, of Burlington, formerly of Wakefield, died on Monday, November 1 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers.
Born in Cambridge on April 15, 1920 she was the daughter of the late Emilio and Mary Grace Carpenito.
Mrs. DiPietro was raised in Cambridge and had been a Wakefield resident from 1959 to 2009 when she moved to Longmeadow Place in Burlington.
What she loved most in life was being with her family – talking, laughing, listening and cooking for them. Her family will cherish her memory.
Mrs. DiPietro was the wife of the late Carl F. DiPietro, Jr. She was the beloved mother of Donna Hurton and her husband Michael of Wakefield, Chip DiPietro and his wife Ellen of North Reading and Joseph DiPietro and his wife Kimberly of Amesbury. She was the sister of the late Carmella Elcewicz, Josephine Carpenito, Virginia Iandoli, Grace Mahoney and Constance Housewright. She was the grandmother of Michael and Brian Hurton, Peter, Christopher, Katie, Andrew, Emma and Madelyn DiPietro and Charlie Colfer. She was the great grandmother of Julia, Jack, Paige, Patrick and Joseph Hurton.
Her funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Wednesday at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass in the Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main St., Wakefield at 10 o'clock. A visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. Interment will be Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield.
