Ernest Saccardo

Ernest Saccardo , 87, of Wakefield died Sunday, August 31, 2008 at his residence.

Born in Boston on July 30, 1921 he was the son of the late Biagio and Annie (Giudetta) Saccardo .

Mr. Saccardo had been a Wakefield resident for the past 43 years. He was a graduate of Charlestown High School. Mr. Saccardo was a World War II Army Air Corps Veteran and served as a navigator in a B26 Marauder in the European Command. He had retired from the Massachusetts State Department of Revenue as a State Income Tax Examiner.

Mr. Saccardo is survived by his wife Mildred R. (Randerson) his four sons; William J. Saccardo and Robert J. Saccardo & his wife Judith Schena all of Rockport, Daniel Saccardo of Chester, NH and John Saccardo & his wife Lisa of No. Reading, his three brothers; Roger G. Saccardo of Peabody, Eugene Saccardo of Tewksbury, Charles L. Saccardo of Stoneham. He is also survived by 7 loving grandchildren. Mr. Saccardo was predeceased by his two sisters; Amy Moccia and Viola Novello.

A funeral service will be held in the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave, Wakefield on Thursday at 12 noon. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday 4-8 PM. Interment will be at Lakeside Cemetery in Wakefield.
