Evelyn Cullen

Evelyn F . (Surrette) Cullen , 88, of Stoneham died on Sunday, January 28, 2018 at the Arnold House in Stoneham after a long period of failing health.

Evelyn was born in Reading on October 13, 1929 and was the daughter of Joseph and Bertha (LeBlanc) Surrette.

Evelyn was raised in Reading and was a graduate of Reading High School and a longtime Stoneham resident, having lived in the area since 1953. She was dearly loved by her family and enjoyed spending family time and especially her eight grandchildren. She was a member of St. Patrick Church in Stoneham. She enjoyed travel and with her late husband spent winters in Florida for thirty years.

Evelyn was the beloved wife of the late John R. Cullen , with whom she spent 60 years of marriage. She was the loving mother of John R. Cullen and his wife Gail of Stoneham, Karen A. Cullen and her husband Robert LeBlond of New Hampshire, Jay J. Cullen and his wife Diana of NH. She was the sister of Howard Surrette, Shirley Knapp, Viola Snyder and the late Lorraine Toussaint, Lea Surrette, Frank Surrette and Earl Surrette. She was the devoted grandmother of Kristen, Lauren, Kiley, Matthew, Samantha, Sean, Cheyenne and Sydney.

Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham on Thursday, February 1 at 10am. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
