Evelyn Gallagher

Evelyn F. Gallagher, 86, a lifelong Stoneham resident, died on Wednesday, June 6 at her residence.

Born in Boston on March 23, 1932, she was the daughter of the late John H. and Nora (Heffernan) Griffin.

Mrs. Gallagher was a graduate of Stoneham High School, Class of 1948. She was a retired Data Analyst for Pillan Data Service in Stoneham and Compugraphics in Burlington. Mrs. Gallagher was a member of St. Patrick Parish in Stoneham. She enjoyed bingo, traveling to the beach, spending time with her family, playing cards and dancing.

Mrs. Gallagher is survived by her husband, John P. Gallagher, her seven children; Evelyn Rooney and her late husband Ron of Woburn, Margaret Gallagher of Stoneham, Theresa Gallagher of Stoneham, John Gallagher and his husband Adam Thomas of CA, Mitchell Gallagher and his wife Kelly of Hanson, Katherine Gallagher and her husband Paul Rogers of Wakefield and Kevin Gallagher of Stoneham; and her two sisters: Jacqueline Uprichard of Norton and Geraldine Cuilla of Peabody. She is also survived by her eight grandchildren; as well as her adoring nieces and nephews. Mrs. Gallagher was predeceased by her brother John Griffin and her sister Patricia Curley.

Her Funeral will be held from the McDonald-Finnegan Funeral Home, 322 Main St., Stoneham on Tuesday at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham at 10am. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the Funeral Home on Monday from 4-8pm. Interment will be at Lindenwood Cemetery in Stoneham.
