Florence P. "Honey" Gould, 94, of Peabody, formerly of Wakefield, died on Sunday, June 16 at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital.

Born in Wakefield on March 23, 1919 she was the daughter of the late George and Marion (Crockford) Blair.

Honey was raised in Wakefield and was a graduate of Wakefield High School. She was a retiree of the former Shawmut County Bank in Wakefield where she had worked in the Financial Control Dept.

Honey was very active in her community. She was a past president of the Wakefield Garden Club, organizer and past president of the YMCA Marinettes, affiliated with the National YMCA, honorary director of the Col. James Hartshorne House, past director of the Elizabeth E. Boit Home, past corporator of the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital, past member of the Wakefield Town Board Recreation Committee, past chairwoman of the Wakefield Community "Keep America Beautiful", member of the Harmony Chapter Order of Eastern Star, Treasurer of the Lincoln School PTA, chairwoman of the 1962 and 1965 High School graduation midnight cruise, recognized nationwide and successfully followed in other states and a member of the First Parish Congregational Church and the Hilltopper's Circle.

Honey made the donation of her body to Harvard Medical.

She was quoted as saying "Loved every minute of my youth ---'39' and holding, then age 90 hit and upset the 'apple cart', not much one can do about it. Just accept the golden years as best you can and have the privilege to live that long."

Honey was the wife of the late George J. Gould. She is survived by her son, Ronald J. Gould of CT and two daughters, Cheryl L. Baker and her husband Dr. Jerry of Oneida, NY and Nancy B. Gould of Wakefield. She is also survived by 3 grandchildren, Jeffrey L. Baker and his wife Peyton Nicole, Scott E. Baker and his wife Schielany and Kristen M. Baker and 3 great grandchildren, Evan, Korah and Madison Baker.

Funeral services were private.

Arrangements in the care of the McDonald Funeral Home in Wakefield.
