Foster K. Cummings, 92, of Wakefield died Monday, April 24, at Winchester Hospital.
Foster was born in Ayer, MA on November 19, 1924 he was the son of the late Albert A. and Esther (Holden) Cummings.
Foster was raised in Wakefield and was a graduate of Wakefield High School Class of 1942. He was a graduate of Bentley College. Foster served in the U.S Marine Corps during WWII and Korea and served with the Rank of Gunnery Sargeant with the Squadron, VMB 613. He worked and later retired as Vice President of the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston after 47 years of service. He was active in the Marine Corps League and was a graduate of the Stonier Graduate School of Banking. He coached Bantam Hockey in the Wakefield Youth Hockey Association. He was standout athlete while at Wakefield High School and played in State Championship games at both the Boston Garden and Fenway Park.
He was the beloved husband of the late Doris L. (Kennedy) Cummings. He was the loving father of William A. Cummings of Weston, Wendell A. Cummings and his wife Peggy of CO. and Nancy L. Cummings of Wakefield. He is also survived by his 3 grandchildren: Meredith Pamp and her husband Eli Fabens, Elizabeth Bryson and her husband Matt and Alistair Cummings.
His Funeral Service will be held in the McDonald Funeral Home 19 Yale Ave. Wakefield on Friday at 11:00. Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 9am. Interment will be at Lakeside Cemetery.
