Frances A. "Fran" DiStaula, 84, of Wakefield, died December 5 in Haverhill after a period of failing health.
Born in Wakefield on February 28, 1924 she was the daughter of the late Joseph & Josephine Filoramo. Mrs. DiStaula was a graduate of Wakefield High School, Class of 1941. She had worked for the L.B. Evans Shoe Company of Wakefield. Later she worked with her late husband in the restaurant business and together they ran the dining room of the Bellevue Golf Club in Melrose. They also owned the former Spot Light Restaurant on Main St. in Woburn.
Mrs. DiStaula was the wife of the late John J. DiStaula. She was the mother of Joanna Glennon of Haverhill, Dianne Beasley of Dennis, Joseph M. DiStaula of Wakefield, Michael R. DiStaula of FL and the late John L. DiStaula. She was the sister of Mary DeMartino of Lawrence, Josephine Asci of Stoneham, Ruth Capuci of Wakefield and the late Peter & Robert Filoramo, Rose Fratto and Stephanie Bacigalupo. She is also survived by her 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Her funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home 19 Yale Ave. Wakefield Wednesday at 9AM followed by a funeral mass in St. Florence Church 47 Butler Ave. Wakefield at 10:00 o'clock. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday 4-8 PM. Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery.
