Frances Z. Gorse, 95, of Stoneham died on Monday, May 11 at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital.
Born in New Brunswick, Canada on August 29, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Hartley and Eva (Steves) Stiles.
Mrs. Gorse was a graduate of Medford High School, Class of 1936. She had been a Stoneham resident since 1949. Mrs. Gorse was a retired Art Teacher from St. Patrick School in Stoneham and had been a member of the Stoneham Arts and Crafts.
Mrs. Gorse was the wife of the late William E. Gorse. She is survived by her two daughters; Jeanne Marie Blongiewicz and her husband Gary of Andover and Linda Smart and her husband Paul of Byfield and her brother William Stiles of MA. Mrs. Gorse is also survived by her five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
A Funeral service will be held in the McDonald-Finnegan Funeral Home, 322 Main St., Stoneham on Friday at 11am. Visitation for relatives and friends at the Funeral Home on Thursday from 4-7pm. Interment will be at Lindenwood Cemetery in Stoneham.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241.
