Francis J. DiSalvo, 91, of Stoneham, formerly of Reading died Monday December 21, at the Emerson Hospital in Concord.
Born July 25, 1918, he was the son of the late Alesandro and Marie (Tambarine) DiSalvo.
Mr. DiSalvo was a graduate of Hamilton High School in Ontario and graduated from MIT in 1942. He had worked as an aeronautical engineer for Air Canada, and had worked for several other companies including Honeywell before retiring. He had been a Stoneham resident for over 45 years. He was a member of St. Patrick Church.
Mr. DiSalvo was the husband of the late Rita J. (Doherty) DiSalvo. He is survived by his seven children, Frank Jr. of Ithaca, NY, William of New London, NH, Richard of Lyons, CO, Ronald of Springfield, Susan Beeson, and Lisa Butters of Stoneham and Ann Marie DiSalvo of Southbridge. He is also survived by his sisters Anna Andrews and Marie Smith of Canada as well as his 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
A funeral mass will be held from the McDonald-Finnegan Funeral Home, 322 Main St., Stoneham on Monday at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham at 10 o'clock.
