Francis Labadini

Francis John Labadini, age 94 of Woburn, formerly of Medford and Somerville, died Thursday, December 1 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers.

Born in the North End of Boston on July 6, 1922 he was the son of the late Antonio and Cecilia (Coppellotti) Labadini.

Mr. Labadini was raised in Somerville and was a graduate of Somerville High School. He then went on to serve in the US Navy during World War II. Mr. Labadini had been a Woburn resident for 40 years and was a member of the Arlington Retired Men's Club. He had worked as a tile setter for many years and he loved to bowl and to golf.

He was the beloved husband of Lydia (DiVasta) Labadini, with whom he shared 70 years of marriage. He was the loving father of Sheila F. Labadini of Woburn, Diane Gioioso of Woburn, Janet Palumbo and her husband Gene of Burlington, Nancy Frenzo and her husband Nick of Reading, and Francis J. Labadini and his wife Lisa of Salem, NH. He was the brother of the late Rita DeSimone, Lorraine Crovo and Mary, Joseph, and John Labadini. He is also survived by his nine grandchildren: Kim, Michael, Kristen, Nicole, Natasha, Nicholas, Jenna, Devin, and Dana; and seven great grandchildren: Tayla, Marissa, Rocco, Giada, Elizabeth, Caden and Lucca.

His Funeral will be held from the McDonald-Finnegan Funeral Home, 322 Main St., Stoneham on Monday at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham at 10am. Interment to follow at Woodbrook Cemetery in Woburn. Visitation for relatives and friends at the Funeral Home on Sunday from 1-5pm.
