Francis Muccio, from Stoneham, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on February 23, 2024, at the West Roxbury Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center. He was 91 years old.
Francis was born July 9, 1932, in Reading, Massachusetts. He was the son of the late Armand Muccio and Gladys (Doucette) Muccio, both from Wakefield, Massachusetts.
He was predeceased by his loving wife of 45 years, Florence (Wolseley) Muccio of Stoneham, Massachusetts and his two brothers: Roger Muccio of Kittery Point, Maine, and Ronald Muccio of Parsonsfield, Maine.
He is survived by his daughter Kimberly (Muccio) Zaulyczny along with his son in-law Adam, and his three granddaughters, Ava, Lia and Noa Zaulyczny of Hudson, NH, sister Janice (Muccio) Taylor of Haverhill, Massachusetts, and Marcia (Muccio) Mouser of Parsonsfield, Maine.
Francis was an honorable United States Army Veteran, proudly serving during the Korean War. He frequently wore his Korean War veteran hat with American pride. Francis had a passion for sports, music, cinema, and celebrities. He would often travel to local celebrity photo shoots or movie sets. His collection of celebrity photo autographs includes famous names like Joe DiMaggio, Jack Nicolson, Cher, Ray Liotta, and Elizabeth Taylor. After retiring from the state of Massachusetts department of public works, Francis enrolled as a production studio movie extra and made background appearances in movies like “Mall Cop”, “The Invention of Lying” & “The Game Plan” to name a few. He had a passion for volunteerism and spent his time throughout retirement at the local Stoneham theater as an usher and often volunteering his time at local food pantries and churches.
Francis was caring, loving and devoted. He was a husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. His wife, daughter, and family, especially his three granddaughters, were his pride and joy. We will always cherish our time with him, the stories he would tell of his adventures and the gifts he would bring his granddaughters that he so proudly thrifted. He will be deeply missed.
