Frank P. "Dina" Boccelli, 88 of Wakefield, who spent summers in Falmouth and winters in Clearwater, FL died at home on Friday evening November 7, with his family at his side after a long illness.
Born in Wakefield, July 25, 1920 he was the son of the late Soccorso and Maria Rosa (Sateriale) Boccelli. Frank was a graduate of Wakefield High School. He was a World War II hero with E Company of Wakefield, and was the recipient of the Bronze Star and other declarations. Frank was a carpenter and furniture maker by trade. His favorite pastimes were cooking, fishing, playing cards and being surrounded by his family.
Frank was the beloved husband of Ann Marie Nina (DiTonno) Boccelli, with whom he spent 63 years of marriage. He was the loving father of Frank N. Boccelli and his wife Jean of No. Reading, Michael Boccelli and his wife Laura of Hampton, NH, Joseph Boccelli and his wife Janet of Middleton, Eva Roberto and Patricia Egan both of Wakefield. Frank was the brother of Gus Boccelli of Stoneham, Lorraine Faragi of Saugus, Samuel Boccelli and Gilda Diperri both of Wakefield and also the late Nicholas Boccelli, Muzzie Boccelli, and Mary Bosco. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Wednesday at 10:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield at 11:30 AM. Relatives and friends may call at the Funeral Home on Tuesday 4-8 PM.
Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery, Wakefield.
