Frank Brown Iii

Frank A. Brown, III age 75 of Saugus, died Sunday, November 7 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Boston on April 13, 1946, he was the son of the late Frank A. Brown, Jr. and the late Grace A. (Ward) Brown.

Mr. Brown was raised in Charlestown and was a graduate of Charlestown High School. He was a retired firefighter, having served the Town of Stoneham for 35 years. Later in life, Mr. Brown went back to school and received a bachelor's degree in Horticultural Studies from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Most recently, he served as a horticultural instructor at Andover Landscape, mentoring and guiding a team of young professionals.

Frank is most remembered for loving and living life to the fullest. He loved to be outdoors, specifically working on his lawn or walking Lake Quannapowitt while enjoying a coffee from the Gingerbread Construction Company. He took great pride in his health and fitness and was a passionate and well-loved member of the CrossFit Route 1 community in the years preceding his diagnosis. Anyone who was lucky enough to cross his path was made to feel loved and supported.

Frank's most loved role was that of "Papa" to his beloved grandson, Lucas Brown.

He was the beloved husband of Lorraine B. (Albano) Brown for 52 blissful years. He was the loving father of Dana Brown and his wife Gina of North Andover, and Craig Brown and his partner Monica Anidjar of New York. He was the brother of the late Kathryn Bohnenstiehl of South Carolina, and of Inez Taylor and her husband Robert of Malden. He is also survived by his wife's siblings as well as several nieces and nephews.

His Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham on Friday at 10am. Visitation for relatives and friends at the McDonald-Finnegan Funeral Home, 322 Main St., Stoneham on Thursday from 3-7pm. Interment, Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.

Per the family's request masks will be required for the visitation and funeral.
