Frank Rich

Frank J. Rich, 84, of Peabody, formerly of Wakefield, died on Tuesday, September 21 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers.

Born in Wakefield on January 5, 1926 he was the son of the late Joseph L. and Bernadette (Naimo) Rich.

Mr. Rich was raised in Wakefield. He was a graduate of Boston University and Salem State College. During World War II he served in the U.S. Coast Guard. He later enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve and was called to active duty during the Korean Conflict. He was a retired accountant for Watts Regulator in Andover.

Mr. Rich had been a Peabody resident since 1963. He was an avid gardner and loved working around the house.

Mr. Rich is survived by his wife Josephine A. (Ripa) Rich, two sons, James D. Rich of Reading and Robert P. Rich of Long Beach, CA, his daughter, Cynthia D'Onofrio of Stoneham, his sister, Mary Ellis of Melrose and his brother Joseph Rich of Danvers. He was predeceased by his brother Henry Rich.

His funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Saturday at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield at 10 o'clock. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. Interment will be at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park in Peabody.
