Franklin C. Leone, 74, of Wakefield passed away on January 4 at the Kaplan Family Hospice Center in Danvers.
Born in Lynn of July 13, 1936, he was the son of the late Franklin P. and Rose M. (Bruni) Leone. He was raised in Wakefield and was a graduate of Wakefield High School. He served in the U.S. Army Corps in Ft. Lewis, Washington.
Franklin retired as a driver for Wakefield Ready Mixed Concrete, Co. and was a member of Lynn Teamsters Local #42. He was a member of the Crystal Community Club and the Knights of Columbus of Wakefield.
Franklin was the husband of Joan (Carney) Leone. He was the father of Franklin C. Leone Jr. and his wife Wendy and Michael J. Leone, all of Wakefield. He was the beloved grandfather of Maggie A. and Franklin R. Leone and had many extended family members. He was the brother of John P. Leone of Florida.
Funeral from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Friday at 9am followed by a funeral mass in the St. Florence Church, 47 Butler Ave., Wakefield at 10 o'clock. A visitation for relatives and friends will be held on Thursday 4-8pm. Interment, Forest Glade Cemetery, Wakefield.
