Frederick F. Mosley, 87, longtime resident of Stoneham, died May 6, 2015 at the Bear Hill Nursing Center.
Born in Stoneham on August 22, 1927, he was the son of the late James J. and Nora Theresa (Fallon) Mosley.
Mr. Mosley was raised in Stoneham and was a graduate of St. Patrick High School, Class of 1944. He had retired from the Town of Stoneham as Health Inspector after 39 years and was a past member of the Stoneham Housing Authority for 30 years. Mr. Mosley served in the US Navy during World War II and was a member of the American Legion, D.A.V., and VFW of Stoneham. For the past 60 years Mr. Mosley placed flags on Veteran's graves on Memorial Day and had served as the Chairman of the Stoneham Memorial Day Committee for many years.
Mr. Mosley was the beloved husband of Diane J. (Fratus) Mosley. He was the loving stepfather of Frank L. Hussar and his wife Beth of TN, Stephen J. Hussar and his wife Ann of Stoneham and Janet A. Cross and her husband Dwight of VT. He was the brother of the late Frances Houghton. He was the grandfather of Ethan, Stephen, Mason and Joseph. He was also the uncle of Charles Houghton and his wife Maureen of Stoneham and Janice, Karen and Kathy Houghton; and the great uncle of Kellie and Patrick.
Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald-Finnegan Funeral Home, 322 Main St., Stoneham Monday from 4-7 pm. Funeral services and interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Stoneham Memorial Day Parade: Stoneham Town Hall, 35 Central St., Stoneham, MA 02180, Attn: Memorial Day Parade Committee.
