Genevieve Horne

Genevieve A . (Ostrowski) Horne , age 97 of Lynnfield died Sunday, August 15 at her home following a brief illness.

Genevieve was born in Saugus and was the daughter of the late Thomas and Blanche (Rydzewski) Ostrowski. She was the beloved wife of the late William "Bill" Horne .

Genevieve was raised and educated in Saugus. She worked as a secretary at General Electric for 35 years and she and her late husband managed the Cedar Glen Golf Course in Saugus for many years.

She was a devoted wife, daughter, sister, and aunt who will be deeply missed. Genevieve is survived by her sister Blanche Cieszka of Lynn, her nephew Rev. Peter Dombrowski of Arizona, her nieces Gayle Rawding and her husband Steve of Lynnfield and Linda Russo of Swampscott. She is also survived two grand nephews and one grand niece as well as several great great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings Helen Robleski, Sophie Cummins, Anna Dombrowski, Lottie Hatfield, Mary Novakowski and Joseph Ostrowski and her great nephew, Michael Russo. She also leaves longtime friends John and Diane Drover of Lynnfield.

Her Funeral Service will be held in the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Thursday at 11am. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held prior to the service from 9-11am. Interment, Forest Hill Cemetery, Lynnfield.
