George Eddy, Jr.
George W. Eddy, Jr., 82, of Lynnfield and Naples, Florida died on Wednesday, June 19 at the Salem Hospital.
Born on November 25, 1930 in Terre Haute, Indiana, he was the son of the late George W. and Beulah B. (Winemiller) Eddy.
Mr. Eddy was a graduate of Wiley High School in Terre Haute, Class of 1947 and Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Indiana. He had retired in 1993 from General Electric in Lynn as a manager. Mr. Eddy had been a Lynnfield resident since 1958. He was a member of the Thomson County Club in North Reading and The Boston Yacht Club in Marblehead. Mr. Eddy was a World War II Army Veteran.
He was the husband of the late Margaret A. (Moran) Eddy. Mr. Eddy is survived by his daughter Michelle M. Eddy Ackerman of Melrose and his grandson Christopher S. Ackerman of Melrose.
His funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave, Wakefield on Tuesday at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass in the Our Lady of the Assumption Church, corner of Salem and Grove Sts, Lynnfield at 10am. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the Funeral Home on Monday from 4-8pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
