George Hoffman

George D . Hoffman , 68 a lifelong resident of Stoneham died Monday August 31, at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center of Burlington.

Born in Arlington May 9, 1952 he was the son of the late Irving and Elsie (Downing) Hoffman ,

George was a graduate of Stoneham High School class of 1970 and Boston College class of 1974. Along with his hockey teammates he was inducted into the Stoneham High School Athletic Hall of Fame. He served in the Navy during the Vietnam Era. George was an avid golfer and was a member of Bradford Country Club. A talented woodworker he made his own boat a 17 foot Dorey. He also enjoyed painting and traveling.

He was the beloved husband of Ann-Marie (Farrell) Hoffman . He is also survived by his cousins, Andrew Hosier of Lexington, Suzanne Hosier of Rhode Island, Ellen Hosier of Reading and Stephen Hosier of Worcester.

Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald-Finnegan Funeral Home, 322 Main St., Stoneham on Thursday from 4-6 p.m. Funeral services will be private.
