George P. Kurkjian, 91, of Weston, formerly of Brighton, died on Tuesday, February 12, at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center in Providence, RI. He was the husband of Eleanor (Tecce) Kurkjian. Born in Worcester on April 20, 1921 he was the son of the late Peter and Anne (Vakel) Kurkjian.
George was a graduate of Watertown High School, Class of 1939. He was an Army Veteran of WWII and the recipient of two Purple Hearts. George was the founder and former operator of Radnor Press in Newton. He was also a member of the DAV and VFW.
Besides his wife, George is survived by his daughter Dr. Jayne Kurkjian-Siegel, son-in-law Dr. Stephen Siegel, granddaughters Amanda and Abigail Siegel of East Greenwich, RI and sister Alice Kurk of Newton Centre. He was the brother the late John, Paul, and Lucille Kurkjian and the brother-in-law of Laurence Tecce of Wakefield. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Friday at 1 p.m. A visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home prior to the service starting at 12 p.m. Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield.
