George Parsons, Jr.

George W . Parsons , Jr . age 95 of Woburn, formerly of Stoneham, died Tuesday, April 28 at the Bear Hill Nursing Home.

Born in Stoneham on June 2, 1924 he was the son of the late George and Gertrude (Anderson) Parsons .

Raised in Stoneham, Mr. Parsons was a graduate of Stoneham High School, Class of 1942 and was also a graduate of Fisher College. He had worked many years as a mailman in Stoneham. He was a member of the American Legion in Stoneham for more than 70 years and was heavily involved; he was a former commander, ran the drill team and also took great pride in decorating the graves of other Veterans. Mr. Parsons enjoyed golf, fishing, gardening, and dancing. He also loved animals, most especially "Tippy" his beloved family dog and "Tori," the much-loved family cat.

He was the beloved husband of Doris E. (Drury) Parsons . He was the loving father of Judiann Parsons of Woburn and Robert Parsons of Lynnfield. He was the brother of the late Dorothy Brennan, Charlie Parsons , and Janet Braley. He is also survived by his cousin Dick Waite of Stoneham as well as many nieces and nephews.
