George Sinclair

OBITUARY



George R. Sinclair, 84 of Wakefield died Sunday September 30, at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital. Born in Boston on October 20, 1927 the son of the late Herbert & Hannah (Courtney) Sinclair. Mr. Sinclair was raised in Boston. He was retired from the California Paint Company. He was a veteran and served in both the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Coast Guard and retired with the rank of Chief Petty Officer. He was a member and Past Post Commander of the Saugus V.F.W. Post #2346 and was also a member of the Wakefield Knights of Columbus, Council # 104.

Mr. Sinclair was the beloved husband of the late Florence M. (Bailey) Sinclair. He was the loving father of Wayne Sinclair of Malden , John F. Bowen of NH, Scott D. Bowen & his wife Donna of Melrose, Donna M. Broadhead & her husband David of NH, Diane F. McCarthy& her late husband Eugene of Melrose, and the late Mark & David Sinclair, Richard, James and Donald R. Bowen, Jr. He was the brother of Dorothy Fischera of CT, Barbara Layton of ME and the late Frederick Sinclair and Francis Sinclair. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

His funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Wednesday at 9am followed by a funeral mass in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield at 10 o'clock. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home Tuesday 4-8 pm. Interment will be at Lakeside Cemetery in Wakefield.
