, 79 of Wakefield died peacefully at the Winchester Hospital on Friday February 26, 2010 after several long years of illnesses.
Born in Aleppo, Syria on March 20, 1930 she was the daughter of the late Elias and Wardeh Bassaleh.
Georgette
came to America with her family in 1968. She has been a Wakefield resident for the past 42 years. She was a devoted member of St. Joseph Church.

was the beloved wife of John
Shami
with whom she shared 59 years of marriage. She was the beautiful mother of four children, Sherin Shami-Campbell and husband Robert of Stoneham, Dr. Noel J.

of Florida, Therese
Shami
of Wakefield and the late Said
Shami
who died in November of 1977. She is also survived by her grandson Dan Campbell of Connecticut, and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield, on Wednesday at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church at 10 o'clock. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4 – 6 PM. Interment will be at Forest Glade, Wakefield
