Gerald Robert "Jerry" Bliss of Lynnfield died on Sunday, August 25 at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire.
Born July 4, 1944 to Edna and Robert Bliss. Father of Jaclyn and Conor. Loving husband of Mary. And best friend of Aussie the dog. Retired regional director of sales for a large pharmaceutical company and retired Lieutenant Colonel of the United States Army. Recipient of numerous commendations during combat operations in Vietnam from 1969-1972 including two bronze stars and the Army commendation medal with three Oak Leaf Clusters. Avid golfer, fitness enthusiast, patriot and hero who loved his country, his family and his Red Sox.
His funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Thursday at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Maria Goretti Church, 112 Chestnut St., Lynnfield at 10am. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4-8pm. Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery.
