Gerald Corradino, Sr.

Gerald J. Corradino, Sr. "Jerry" of Wakefield MA, and York, ME, died April 7th after an extended illness. He was 80.

Born in Medford, MA 1931 son of the late Gerald J. Corradino and Rose Scarpaci. He went on to graduate from Medford High in 1950 and attended Burdett College.

His professional career started at "Viva Macaroni" as Sales Manager for 15 years. He went on to create "Delora Foods" producing fresh filled pasta. Next he created "It's Pasta Time Restaurant" where he invented the one minute cooked pasta and breakfast crepe sold for the use of airlines. With his knowledge of pasta he returned to his roots in sales and ventured overseas to Italy to import Italian pasta. He started a national distribution program for specialty pasta which led to the launch of Corabella (Meaning Beautiful Heart) now nationally recognized pasta brand.

Jerry raised four children, 2 boys and 2 girls with his long time wife of 57 years Dolores G. (Costantino) Corradino. A family man very involved in his children's and grandchildren's lives. He was also known by the nickname "Buddy"

He was a talented basketball player in high school. He was a lover of music, great singer, avid golfer and all around sports enthusiast. A member of Bear Hill Country Club for 38 years and Golf Ranger at York Country Club. He loved watching all manner of Boston sports.

Husband of Dolores G. (Costantino) Corradino. Father of Gerald J. Corradino, Jr. of York, ME, James A. Corradino and wife Michele Mitchell of Boston, Diana L. Corradino MacKay of Woburn, and Elena R. Corradino and Dario Manfre of Wakefield. Also survived by his 2 grandchildren; Marilyn Rose, and Milana Rose. Brother of the late Marilyn Rivela and brother-in-law of Tom Costantino and Vincent Rivela.

Funeral from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., WAKEFIELD, MA on Thursday at 9 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield on Thursday at 10 o'clock. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. Interment, Forest Glade Cemetery, Wakefield.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Heat Association, 20 Speen St., framingham, MA 01701.
