Gerald Izzett

Gerald W. Izzett, 74, of Wakefield died Monday April 12 at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.

Born in Mt. Savage, MD on December 6, 1935 he was the son of the late Kilgore & Emma (Folk) Izzett.

Mr. Izzett was raised in Mt. Savage and later graduated from Fisher Junior College in Boston. He retired from the Department of Defense in 1996 as a Quality Assurance Manager. He was a member and Past Master of both the Golden Rule Lodge AF & AM of Wakefield and the Bethlehem Lodge of Masons. He was also a member of the Aleppo Temple. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict

Mr. Izzett was the husband of Barbara A. (Carbone). He was the father of Kenneth P. Izzett & his wife Maritza of Methuen, Kathleen E. Goodwin of MD, Karen A. McCaulley & husband James of TN and Kristy M. McSheehy of Wakefield. He was the brother of Kilgore Izzett, Jr. and Janet Thompson of MD and Edward Izzett of Puerto Rico. He is also survived by his grandchildren Ken, Brian, Louis, Deborah, Hannah and Sarah and also his 5 great grandchildren.

His funeral will be held in the McDonald Funeral Home 19 Yale Ave. Wakefield Saturday at 11 a.m. Visitation at the funeral home will be held on Friday from 4-8pm. Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Shriner's Hospitals for Children, Office of Development, 2900 Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, FL 33607.
