Geraldine P . Watt , age 81 of Chelsea, died on October 14 at the CHA Hospital in Everett.
She was born in Melrose on February 3, 1940 and was the daughter of the late Harry and Dorothy (Derenne) Wilkes.
Gerry was a graduate of Cambridge High & Latin School and got her Associates degree in social work from Bunker Hill Community College. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Wakefield and enjoyed attending the many rebuilding and planning meetings. She was a voracious reader and enjoyed British history and talking on the phone with family and friends.
She was the loving mother of Kenneth Watt of Chelsea, and Phillip Watt of Austria. She was the grandmother of Noah, David, and Samuel Watt . Gerry was the beloved sister of Dorothy Bohannon of Tewksbury, Harry Wilkes and his wife Kay of Oklahoma City, Alison Salamone and her husband Anthony of Wilmington, Cynthia Wilkes of Wilmington and her brother in law George Kapsambelis. She was predeceased by her sisters Leslie Kapsambelis and Sandra Wilkes. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A Graveside Service will be held at Forest Glade Cemetery, Lowell St. Wakefield on Monday November 1st at 11:30 a.m. All are invited to attend.
