Gertrude Keenan

Gertrude A . Keenan (Donahue) formerly of Arlington passed away peacefully August 2nd at the age of 97 surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Somerville on October 11, 1918, she was the daughter of the late James and Margaret (Dunphy) Donough.

Mrs. Keenan had attended St. Peter's School in Dorchester and was a graduate of St. Patrick's High School in Roxbury. She was a retired secretary at Harvard Business School. Mrs. Keenan was a member of St. Agnes Church in Arlington.

Beloved wife of the late Joseph W. Keenan , Sr., devoted mother of Joseph W. Keenan , Jr. and his wife Marilyn of Falmouth, Kathleen Keenan of Reading, Judy Munroe ( Keenan ) and her husband Gary of Walpole. Loving grandmother/Nana to Brian Keenan , wife Caitlin, Joanna Keenan , Geoffrey Munroe, Katie Keenan Vagen and her husband Kevin. Great grandmother to Mia Keenan and Keenan Vagen. Also survived by sister-in-law Loretta Keenan of Quincy, many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews.

Family and friends respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Sunday, August 7th, from 1-4 p.m. at the McDonald-Finnegan Funeral Home, 322 Main Street, Stoneham. A celebration of life will be held in the Funeral Home at 9:30 on Monday, August 8th, prior to the Funeral Mass at St. Agnes Church, Reading at 10:30. Interment will be at Massachusetts National Cemetery, Connery Avenue, Bourne, MA.
