Gertrude White

Gertrude Mary White passed away gently on January 16, 2015 at 97 years. She resided in Stoneham, MA and was formerly of Wakefield, MA. She was born October 14, 1917 in Boston, MA to Edward Walsh and Gertrude O'Leary Walsh.

She graduated from East Boston High class of 1935. Beloved wife of 65 years to the late John H. White . Loving mother to Susan Green and husband Geoff of San Clemente, CA, Janet White and husband Scott Foberg of Stoneham, MA and Newport, RI and John M. White of Stoneham, MA. Devoted grandmother to David Kawalko Roselli of Los Angeles, CA, Taryn Borthwick of Santa Cruz, CA, and Patrick and Derek White of Tokyo, Japan. Proud great grandmother to Luca Kawalko Roselli and Autumn and Isla Borthwick, Gertrude was the sister of the late Margaret O'Donnell, Blanche Morrisey and Eileen O'Dean. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews. Gertrude and her family moved to Wakefield, MA in 1955 where she was an active member of the Most Blessed Sacrament Church for many years. She retired from the American Mutual Insurance Company in 1977 as the Northeast Division Claims Manager.

In accordance with Gertrude's wishes, services are private. A gathering of family and friends to celebrate Gertrude's life will be held this summer in Newport, RI.
