Gloria Carbone

Gloria L. Carbone, 83, who formerly lived in both Wakefield and Stoneham, died peacefully in her home in North Andover on Saturday, February 27. Her death was later confirmed at the Lawrence General Hospital.

Born in Whitman on February 7, 1927 she was the daughter of the late Charles R. and Lillie (Swan) O'Connor.

Mrs. Carbone was educated in the Brockton Public School System. She was a member of the Brockton Chapter of the Rainbow Girls and had served as the organist. She was also an avid gardener, pianist, and dancer.

Mrs. Carbone was the loving and devoted wife for 54 years of the late John P. Carbone. She was the dedicated and loving mother of Anthony Carbone of North Andover and Cynthia (Carbone) Hart and her wife Carolyn of Burlington. She was the sister of the late Harold L., Melvin R., Charles R., and John H. O'Connor. She is also survived by her two beloved grandsons, Alexander T. and Marcus A. Carbone to whom she gave and received enduring love and joy.

A funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Saturday at 9 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Florence Church at 10 o'clock. Relatives and friends may call at the Funeral Home on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield.
