Gloria Hurley

Gloria Ann Hurley, 87, of Wakefield and formerly Lynnfield and Malden, passed away at the Sawtelle Family Hospice House in Reading on Monday February 6.

Born in Malden on March 18, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Charles J. and Catherine F. (Bruhmuller) Cure.

Gloria was a graduate of Girls Catholic High School in Malden. She was a former member of the Irish American Ladies Auxiliary in Malden and a member of St. Joseph's Parish in Wakefield. Gloria was retired from Analog Devices in Peabody. She loved to shop and to spend her summers at the family cottage at Wells, ME.

Gloria was the loving wife to the late John C. Hurley, Jr. She is survived by her two sons; John C. "Jack" Hurley and his wife Tina of Halifax, Nova Scotia and Brian W. Hurley and his wife Penny of Billerica. Mrs. Hurley is also survived by her four granddaughters; Jessica, Jordan, Jennifer and her husband Mark, and Gillian and two great-granddaughters; Deanna and Reagan.

Her funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave Wakefield on Friday at 9:00 A.M followed by a funeral mass in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St. Wakefield at 10 o'clock. A period of visitation will held at the funeral home on Thursday from 4 – 8 P.M.

Interment will be at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park in Peabody, MA. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Sawtelle Family Hospice House in Reading, c/o VNA of Middlesex East & Visiting Nurse Hospice, 607 North Ave., STE 17 Wakefield, MA 01880
