Gordon Boyd

Gordon William Boyd, 78, died May 24, 2013. Mr. Boyd was born in Wakefield, MA to the late Gordon and Bertha Alice Thayer Boyd. He was a veteran having served in the US Navy for 22 years. Mr. Boyd had graduated from Wakefield High School in 1953. He was a member and past president of the Hickory Ruritan Club, a member of the Coast Guard Warrant Officers Association, and a 27 year member of Atlantic Shores Baptist Church. Mr. Boyd was predeceased by a brother, Chester Boyd.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 22 years, Eunice Cutrell Doxie Boyd; six step-children; sisters, Beverly A. Selway (Brian) of MA and Wanda L. Conroy (John) of NH; brothers, George R. Boyd of MA, Richard P. Boyd (Joy) of TN, and Raymond P. Boyd (Patricia) of MA; twenty-five grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00am at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, 185 Lake St., Peabody, MA In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the Hickory Ruritan Club Scholarship Fund, 621 Hollygate Ln , Chesapeake, VA 23322 or to Atlantic Shores Baptist Church, 1861 Kempsville Rd, Virginia Beach, VA 23464.
