Grace Nicholson

Grace A. Nicholson, 92, a Wakefield resident for 47 years, died Friday, August 2nd at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital.

Born in Boston on May 14, 1921 she was the daughter of the late William and Grace (Pinkman) DeFlurin.

Mrs. Nicholson was a graduate of Hyde Park High School. She was a member of St. Florence Church and of the Ladies of Sodality. She enjoyed square dancing.

Mrs. Nicholson was the loving wife of the late George Nicholson. She was the mother of Paul Nicholson and his wife Barbara of Andover, Richard Nicholson and his wife Denise of Hudson, Roger Nicholson and his wife Becky of VA, Robert Nicholson of Billerica, Ann Noyes and her husband Barry of Wakefield and the late Nancy Cicchetti and John F. Nicholson. She was the sister of the late William and Eddie DeFlurin. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. Mrs. Nicholson was preceded in death by 1 grandchild.

Her funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Wednesday at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass in St. Florence Church 46 Butler Ave., Wakefield at 10 o'clock. A visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. Interment, Forest Glade Cemetery, Wakefield.
