Gretchen Holt-Murray

Gretchen E. Holt-Murray of No. Reading and a former resident of Lynnfield died Monday January 30 at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington. Born in Saugus on December 3, 1957 the daughter of Harriet (Michelfelder) Holt of Lynnfield and the late Dr. Bradford F. Holt. Gretchen was a graduate of Lynnfield High School and later from Bridgewater State College. A naturalist she was involved in numerous clubs and organizations including the Andover Historical Society and the Audobon Society. She enjoyed Creative Modern Dancing, Egyptian Jewelry, music and dancing to name but a few interests.

In addition to her mother she is survived by her daughter Alyse D. Murray of Bradford. She was the sister of Philip C. Holt of Salem, NH, Johanna M. Holt and her fiancé Bill Welsh of Bradford and the late Marc and David H. Holt. She is also survived by her fiancé Lenny Klapper of No. Andover and her niece and nephew Andrea Wren and Clinton E. Morton.

A memorial service will be held at the Union Congregational Church of North Reading 148 Haverhill St. on Saturday February 4 at 1:00 pm. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
