Harold Spafford

Harold D . Spafford , Jr., 85, a lifelong resident of Wakefield died on Sunday, July 14 at the Sawtelle Family Hospice House in Reading.

Born in Stoneham on October 14, 1927 he was the son of the late Harold D . and Maxine (Heath) Spafford .

Mr. Spafford was a graduate of Wakefield High School, Class of 1945. He also attended Norwich University. During World War II he served in the U.S. Army. He was a retired printer for the Wakefield Daily Item for 40 years.

Mr. Spafford enjoyed skiing and was an N Gage Model Train enthusiast and collector.

Mr. Spafford was the beloved husband of Ruth L. (O'Connor) Spafford . He was the brother-in-law of Patricia (O'Connor) McManus of Lynn and Barbara (O'Connor) Beaulieu of CA. He is also survived by several nieces & nephews.

A funeral service will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Friday at 12 p.m. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home prior to the service from 10-12 p.m. Interment will be at Lakeside Cemetery in Wakefield.
