Helen Cook

Helen M. Cook, 92, of Wakefield died on Monday, December 6 at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital.

Born in Lynn on March 8, 1918 she was the daughter of the late Sophie Machajeska.

Mrs. Cook was raised in Lynn and was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School. She had worked as a secretary for the Department of Civil Defense in Maynard, the Army Corps of Engineers in Waltham and had retired from the Department of Transportation in Cambridge.

Mrs. Cook was the wife of the late Adam Cook. She is survived by her two sons; James Cook of Wakefield and Paul Cook of Mooresville, NC, her daughter Barbara Cook-Sowa of Marlborough and her two granddaughters; Lindsay and Cady.

Her funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral 19 Yale Ave, Wakefield on Tuesday at 9am followed by a funeral mass in St. Joseph Church 173 Albion St, Wakefield at 10 o'clock. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held on Monday from 5-8pm. Interment will be at Pine Grove Cemetery in Lynn,

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Oncology Department, Lahey Clinic Medical Center, Burlington, MA 01803.
