Helen Hodgkins

Helen E. "Dolly" Hodgkins, 84, of Melrose died Saturday June 19, at the Bear Hill Nursing Center.

Born in Melrose on May 1, 1924 she was the daughter of the late George and Mary (Saulnier) Hatfield.

Dolly was raised and educated in Melrose. She had been a Stoneham resident for 20 years. She was a former employee of the Transitron Corporation in Melrose and the Fitch Nursing Home.

Dolly was the wife of the late Donald W. Hodgkins for 58 years who died in 2003. She was the mother of Donald R. Hodgkins of Reading.

A Funeral service will be held in the McDonald-Finnegan Funeral Home, 322 Main St., Stoneham on Thursday at 10am. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Interment will be at Lindenwood Cemetery, Stoneham.
