Helene M. Cuesta

Helene M. Cuesta, age 88 of Waltham, died on Friday January 5 at BrightView Assisted living in Danvers. 

She was born in Boston on December 6, 1935 and was the daughter of the late John and Margaret (Stone).

Helene worked in the healthcare industry for over 60 years, providing kind and compassionate care to many. She loved spending her winters in Mexico and traveling with her siblings. Helene loved her garden and would spend hours planting her flowers. Being an avid reader, she always had a book in her hand and loved true crime. 

She was the beloved wife of the late Jose Cuesta. She was the devoted mother to Robert Hyson of St. Cloud Florida, and the late Robin (Hyson) Andrews. She was the loving grandmother to John Keefe of Waltham and Danielle Keefe of Dalton New Hampshire. 

Helene is survived by her sister-in-law Catherine Stone of Weymouth, her sisters Jean Hixon of Orlando, Florida, Rae Woodford DeFrancesco and husband Steve of Abington, and her brother James and wife Patty of Whitman. 

She was predeceased by her sister Barbara Coscia, and brothers John, William, and Robert Stone.

Her Funeral Service will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Wednesday February 7 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home prior to the service beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment, Lakeside Cemetery, Wakefield.
