Henry Ward

Henry J . Ward , 90, a longtime resident of Stoneham, died on Tuesday, December 8 at his home.

Born in Chelsea on November 1, 1919 he was the son of the late Henry G. and Ardella (Carroll) Ward .

Mr. Ward was a graduate of Stoneham High School, class of 1938. During World War II he served in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Ward had worked as a Maintenance Supervisor for Eastern Airlines and retired in 1983. He was a 63 year member of the Wakefield Lodge of Elks and was the longest continuous and oldest member.

Mr. Ward was the husband of Theresa A. (Sullivan) Ward . He was the father of Michael J . Ward and his wife Krystyna of Rocky Hill, CT, Larry H. Ward and his wife Patricia of Exton, PA, John F. Ward and his wife Jane of Amesbury, Patrick C. Ward of Belmont, Maureen T. Nault and her husband Robert of Bradford, Kathleen A. Coveyou and her husband David of Petosky, MI. He was the brother of Arthur Ward of Cleveland, OH, Claire M. "Mae" Dunn of Crofton, MD and the late Ruth Oatis and Dorothea Laben. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, Leszek, Eva, David, Christopher, Daniel, Bennett, Emma, Christina, Randall, Ryan, Keara, William, Andrew and Patrick, and a great granddaughter Isabella.

His funeral will be held from the McDonald-Finnegan Funeral Home, 322 Main St., Stoneham on Saturday at 9 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham at 10 o'clock. Relatives and friends may call at the Funeral Home on Friday 4-8pm. Interment will be at Lindenwood Cemetery in Stoneham.
