Herbert Hunt of Reading passed away Saturday, April 9th in Winchester.
Hebert was born in Cambridge, and was the son of the late Everett C. Hunt and Anna (Truesdale) Hunt .
He was the beloved husband of Nancy Wolley. Herbert was the loving father of Lori Evans and her husband William of Chelmsford. He was the grandfather of Julie Evans, and Scott Evans and his wife Kate, all of Chelmsford. He was the great grandfather of Jackson Evans. Herbert was also the brother of David Hunt of Tewksbury, and the late Robert Hunt .
Mr. Hunt graduated from Stoneham High School, Class of 1943. He served in the Navy during World War II. He went to Tufts University and Wentworth Institute. Herbert was the sole proprietor of H.W. Hunt Co. Heating and A.C in Reading for many years. He was the treasurer of H.W. Homes Inc. of North Reading. Herb retired to play golf with his friends at Meadow Brook Golf Club in Reading. Herb and Nancy recently celebrated their 62 years of marriage. Herbs greatest job was spending time with his family.
A celebration of Herb's life will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Sunday April 17 from 2-4 p.m. Reflections on Herb's life will begin at 3:30 p.m.
