Ida May Boodry , 87, of Wakefield died peacefully at her home on Monday, October 14, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Prince Edwards Island, Canada on April 29, 1926 she was the daughter of the late Mable (Connick) Foley. Ida was a lifelong Wakefield resident. She was a graduate of Wakefield High School, Class of 1944 and was a member of St. Joseph Parish in Wakefield. Ida enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Ida was the wife of the late William Boodry with whom she shared 58 years of marriage. She is survived by her four children; Darlene Taylor, William Boodry and his wife Anne, Thomas Boodry and his wife Joan all of Wakefield and Richard Boodry of Stoneham and her sister Mabel Rutledge of CT. Mrs. Boodry is also survived by her 12 grandchildren, Yvette, Ginelle, Steven, Eddie, Jeffrey, Billy, Bryan, Michael, Thomas, Ellen, Catherine, and Patrick, and her 7 great grandchildren, Nicholas, Cassandra, Mia, Adam, Owen, Emma, and Myleih Rose. She was predeceased by her daughter Carol Surette, 2 grandchildren; Dickie and Danny and her four brothers; Richard Foley, Robert Foley, Gerald Foley and Walter Foley. Her funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave, Wakefield on Thursday at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St, Wakefield at 10am. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4-8pm. Interment will be at Lakeside Cemetery in Wakefield. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Citizens Scholarship Fund of Wakefield, c/o The Dickie Boodry Fund, P.O. Box 321, Wakefield, MA 01880.
