Irene Dow

Irene D. Dow, 94 of Wakefield died Saturday Nov. 3 in Melrose. Born on December 5, 1917 the daughter of the late Corrado & Giovanina (Alicata) D'Amico. Mrs. Dow was born and raised in Wakefield and had worked as a young girl for the former Wakefield Laundry. Later she worked for Convair Aircraft Corp of San Diego, CA , Transitron Electronics of Wakefield and as a waitress for the former Toody's Restaurant of Wakefield.

Mrs. Dow was the wife of the late Francis J. Dow. She was the loving mother of Joseph F. Dow and Mary Brendel both of Wakefield and the late Frances Paone. She was the sister of Josephine Migliori of CA and the late Salvatore D'Amico. She is also survived by her grandchildren, John Brendel of Wakefield, Sherry Brendel Nadon of WY, Jo-Ann Downie of Woburn, Joseph Sheedy of Pepperell, Lisa (LaFauci) Lee of Salem, NH and the late Karen (LaFauci) Horan. She was also the step-grandmother of Kelly Roper and Bonnie Mullen. Ten great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews also survive.

Her funeral service will be held in the McDonald Funeral Home 19 Yale Ave. Wakefield on Wednesday at 12 Noon. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home prior to the service beginning at 9am. Interment will be at Lakeside Cemetery.
