Irene McLaughlin

Irene M. McLaughlin, 88 of Lakeland, Florida formerly of Medford and Somerville died Sunday, March 25, at the Bear Hill Nursing Center.
Born in Boston, March 29, 1929 she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Bettina (DiGiralomo) Giordano.

Irene was raised in Medford, and was a graduate of St. Clement High School. Early in her career she worked for Federal Liquors. She eventually moved on to Stride Rite Shoe where she retired from the Accounting department. Irene made her home in Lakeland, Florida for the past 27 years where she was a very active member of St. Anthony Parish.

Irene was the beloved wife of the late William McLaughlin. She was the loving mother of Mary Beth McLaughlin of Stoneham and Terri Dell'Anno and her husband John of Wilmington. Sister of Joseph Giordano of Haverhill and the late Marian Fitzgerald, Pat Giordano, and Victoria Phillips. Irene is also survived by her three grandchildren; Nicole Marrone, John Dell'Anno Jr., and Christopher Dell'Anno; as well as five great grandchildren.

Her funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham on Monday at 10 a.m. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald-Finnegan Funeral Home, 322 Main St., Stoneham on Monday prior to the mass from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Interment, Lakeside Cemetery, Wakefield.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Cam Neely Foundation to benefit the Neely House at Tufts Floating Hospital, 30 Winter St., Boston, MA 02108.
